Preface
The following Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Eyes for Life Canberra (EFLC) website and the materials accessible from this site, please read carefully before ordering from this site. Your use of this site means you accept these Terms and Conditions. If anything does go wrong, the EFLC Executive Officer is available via email for help and advice. Products sold through the Eyes for Life Canberra website are protected by Australian Consumer Law as you are buying from an Australian owned and operated not for profit charity business that is located in Australia. Please note that these Terms and Conditions of Purchase may be updated from time to time. For these Terms and Conditions “we”, “our” and “us” refer to Eyes for Life Canberra trading under Canberra Blind Society Inc. (ABN: 23 708 616 327)
Products
We have made a concerted effort to ensure the details of each product displayed on our website is accurate. Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee that every product displays an accurate price, colour, description or specifications. In the case that an error is identified, we will undertake to correct the error as soon as is practical. If an error is made in relation to an ordered product’s price, we may choose to continue with existing orders for that product accepting the incorrect price as payment. Alternatively we may choose to notify the customer that a purchased product was listed with an incorrect price and give the customer the opportunity to cancel the order or accept the order with a corrected price (requiring further payment, or a partial refund). All product prices are shown inclusive of any applicable GST. In the case of products which are GST exempt, this will be indicated on that specific product’s detail page.
Warranty
In accordance with both EEC and Australian Standards, Eschenbach optical and low vision aids all carry a 12 month warranty from date of purchase. All our products are warranted against mechanical and electrical defects for a minimum of 12 months from the date of purchase. Faulty products should be returned to the place of purchase and proof of purchase must be presented. Please quote the model number in all correspondence. Returned products damaged by poor packaging are the responsibility of the sender. Eschenbach digital magnification devices carry a 24 month warranty from date of purchase. Daylight products carry a 24 month warranty from date of purchase. Eschenbach binocular warranty vary from 12 months to 10 years. Please check the individual information when ordering. During the warranty period, we will repair or replace the product free of charge provided the fault was not caused by misuse, improper handling, negligence, normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or by any modifications made by the purchaser. The warranty does not cover consumables such as bulbs, tubes or batteries. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
Vision Impairment Information
Information on the website regarding vision impairment is general information and cannot substitute a consultation with a vision care professional. We therefore encourage you to see a vision care professional if you have an eyesight problem or vision loss.
Limitation of Liability
To the full extent allowed by law, Eyes for Life Canberra excludes for itself and its resellers any liability for incidental, consequential, indirect, special or punitive damages of any kind, or for loss of revenue or profits, loss of business or of other financial loss arising out of or in connection with the sale, installation, maintenance, use, performance, failure or interruption of a supplied product, even if Eyes for Life Canberra has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Privacy Policy
Canberra Blind Society Inc. trading as Eyes for Life Canberra as a not for profit charity takes your privacy very seriously. All information collected through the Eyes for Life Canberra website will be held in the strictest of confidence. We will not sell or release your personal information to any affiliate or third party unless required to do so by law. In the instance that you provide your credit card details in order to complete an online purchase, we will securely submit these details to the Commonwealth Bank to complete the transaction. Upon a successful processing, we will only store the credit card type and the last 3 digits of your credit card number so that you can identify the payments made in your order history. The full credit card number, expiry date and CVV are permanently deleted from our system.
Payment & Delivery
All purchases must be paid in full prior to delivery. We reserve the right to cancel any orders in the event that we suspect the payment is fraudulent. By purchasing from us you are entering into a contract and may not rescind payment via Credit Card charge backs in the event of late or damaged delivery. We make every effort to ensure all items are delivered to you quickly but we are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post or other couriers we may use. We make all efforts to ensure that goods are well packaged so they arrive without damaged, however replacement of an item lost or damaged in transit will be at our sole discretion and is not guaranteed. All delivery costs are included in the price as per the individual product details page.
Refund Policy
We offer a refund or exchange if you change your mind within 14 days of purchase. Items must be unused, in their original packaging and in new condition suitable for resale. Manuals, packaging and accessories must accompany the product returned. Please note that all returns, refunds, exchange requests and repair requests must be accompanied by original proof of purchase documents. If you cannot produce proof that the goods were purchased from Eyes for Life Canberra we won’t be able to give you a refund or exchange. When goods are returned, Eyes for Life Canberra will refund payment made for those goods, by the same method used for the purchase. Refunds will normally be processed within seven (7) days of Eyes for Life Canberra receiving the returned goods.
Returns Policy
If you receive your goods and you find that it is not suitable for your needs, you must inform the EFLC Executive Officer within 14 days from the invoice date of your intention to return the goods. Goods must be returned undamaged and in their original condition. We do not cover the cost of the return postage fee to us. We recommend you use registered post or courier to send the goods back to Eyes for Life Canberra.
Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Australian Capital Territory and shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capital Territory.
